nd. c 1960 c. 70pp unnumbered typescript pages, fold out map. 33x21, card wraps, staple bound with glued cloth protection to spine and staples. Slight bumping to corners, two small tears to back cover not affecting contents, otherwise very good. The Surrey Development Plan had taken considerable time between its submission in 1953 and Government approval in 1958. The Town Maps (12 in total) were left to be drawn up later; this assessment of Dorking was one of them. Lots of interesting detail about the town and its potential development.

Small errata slip inserted. 31x25, card wraps. Covers a little rubbed, with a small surface tear on the bottom edge, otherwise very good indeed. A particularly scarce and very early Abercrombie Plan. The Plan considers housing, water supply, industry, civic centres, transport etc. Better land use organisation was especially important.

Liverpool, Liverpol UP, 1922. xxii, 93pp+ 23 plates (incl colour), plan in 4 sections at end and incl text illustrations. 32x26, publisher's card wraps. Spine frayed with missing pieces, else a very good copy. A rare and important early Abercrombie plan. Doncaster was the first British Regional Planning Scheme to be prepared (a previous project in South Wales being more in the nature of a Regional Survey). Abercrombie had come to prominence following his ground-breaking "Dublin of the Future" Plan (seen as the first modern plan for a city region). Doncaster was a rapidly expanding coal mining district and Abercrombie's designs for new mining settlements are included. T. H. Johnson was a Doncaster architect and surveyor. An outstanding item.

London suburban pressures were affecting the area, and settlements such as Becontree were being developed for LCC housing estates. A scarce inter-war Adshead Plan.
